Tasmanian artist Angus Douglas's creative journey began in his childhood, surrounded by the architectural drawings of his father. This early exposure ignited a passion for expansive and imaginative landscapes, illustrated in his early works. A pivotal moment in his artistic development occurred during a trip to India and Nepal at nineteen, where he connected with locals through his watercolour sketches. In 2003, under the guidance of Max Angus, he transitioned to larger brushes and quality paper, diving into the intricate world of watercolour landscapes.
His artistry, deeply rooted in his Tasmanian heritage, showcases a blend of vivid imagination and a profound appreciation for the natural world.
