Flinders Flicks

Now in its 5th year, Flinders Flicks is emerging as one of the most popular events on the Flinders Island calendar.

This year the Festival will include an art exhibition and a series of creative art workshops, culminating into the gala event – the showing and judging of local films at The Flinders Flicks Film Festival on Friday 23rd August at the Furneaux Arts & Entertainment Centre. It’s a free community event the whole island attends!

The concept is simple; The festival is open to everyone from the first time filmmaker to the seasoned professional. All films must be under 3 minutes long and include titles and credits and can be any genre. Films must include the 'Flinders Flicks Icon' and the interpretation is entirely up to the filmmaker. This years icon is WATER.

A panel of judges will choose the "Best Festival Film", "Best Use of the Icon Award" & the "Judges Encouragement Award " the audience will play the important role of the critic to select the "Peoples Choice Award" with prizes being awarded to these films.
