Now in its 7th year, The Furneaux Islands Festival is a unique Tasmanian event held on Flinders Island to celebrate the community, culture and musical heritage of our diverse island community. Held annually in January, the festival stages a variety of events at different venues across the Island.
The main Furneaux Islands Festival weekend will be held January 17th-19th. Flinders Council will be hosting a Twilight Market on the evening of Friday 17th at the Whitemark Showgrounds and the Free Community BBQ Day on Sunday 19th at the Furneaux Museum.
The weekend will feature a wonderful program of events and activities to take part in. Australian singer Neil Murray will be headlining the festival weekend with visiting performers “The Band Who Knew Too Much” alongside our talented local musicians. Social Circus Tasmania will be running circus workshops over the weekend for young and old.
The entire month of January features a bounty of musical and performing talent, locally inspired arts and craft and delicious local produce - all in celebration of our laid-back island lifestyle.
