Winter’s Embrace: A Fusion of steel, light and fire

Nestled within the tranquil grounds of Blenheim Garden and Gallery, Gene McLaren's Winter's Embrace: A Fusion of Steel, light and fire, is an experience in captivating the fusion of art and light.

This exhibition showcases a stunning array of sculptures by Gene McLaren, crafted from corten steel, stainless steel, and concrete, incorporating LED lighting. Drawing on inspiration from the theory that all that is “composed- decomposes” infused with elements of traditional architecture and design, each bearing the mark of McLaren’s vision and passion. The exhibition runs from Friday the 21st of June until Saturday the 13th of July.

As daylight wanes, the sculptures come alive under the gentle caress of carefully choreographed lighting, casting intricate shadows that dance with the rhythm of the night. From bold and imposing structures to delicate and intricate forms, the artists' mastery of steel breathes life into the cold embrace of winter, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in a symphony of shapes and shadows, where every sculpture tells a story of resilience, strength, and the eternal dance between light and darkness.
