Risby Cove

Risby Cove is Strahan's only true waterfront accommodation, set historically in a peaceful cove that once was a commercial maritime centre. This haven in the wilderness allows the guest to watch the spectacular sunsets, explore the nearby rainforest and is only a short walk to the cruise boats and rail terminal.
Risby Cove is Strahan's only absolute waterfront accommodation. Facing due west across the tannin-stained waters of Macquarie Harbour, both accommodation and restaurant look over the shipwrecks of a bygone shipping era to the passage of the local fishing fleet and breathtaking West Coast sunsets. Taking inspiration from its dramatic surrounds and rich history, Risby Cove presents a style of accommodation that is narrative of its rustic beginnings as a sawmill whilst offering the weary explorer such creature comforts as spa baths, sumptuous bedding and mini bars featuring the finest Tasmanian temptations. Risby Cove restaurant is open to the public and serves inspired Australian cuisine with an emphasis on the freshest local produce and seafood.
